Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. The global recognition of his music has helped his rise into the mainstream of Latin music. Una Lady Como Tu, the hit song from 2016 received the Colombian Kids Choice Award in 2017 for Best Song. The singer released his first long-player ADN to the local Sony distributor in Medellin La Industria Inc. In the Top Latin Albums chart ranked ADN at the 8th spot. Vaina Loca was the Top Five hit of Ozuna's Top Five album in 2007 led him to join Ozuna. He dropped Dopamina, his chart-topping sophomore album in the year following. Later in 2021 he performed the duet for TINI's streaming smash track Maldita Foto. The hit single La Bachata from 2000 was released in 2023. Turizo is a musician who was born into a musical family. Both his parents also played the guitar. In interviews, Turizo stated that music is an essential part of his life. He was taught how to play the guitar, saxophone the ukulele and piano when he was when he was a child. Despite initially wanting to work as a vet, Julian convinced him that taking lessons with an Cuban singer would alter his direction in life.
